Frequently Asked Questions

WHY DO YOU HAVE ONLY 4 PRODUCTS?

There are several reasons.  First and foremost, we have chosen to limit our products to only those in which we are confident the user is most likely to experience a beneficial effect.  While it would be less expensive for our consumer to buy a 500 mg or 1500 mg tincture, we believe the dose then taken (16.7 mg or 50 mg at one full dropper) would be inadequate to expect an effect, with an ultimate conclusion of “this stuff doesn’t work.”  Accordingly, 3000 mg is our lowest and currently only concentration of tincture, providing 100 mg CBD per dose.  Similarly, our cream is 5000 mg/4 oz jar, the highest formulation we have seen in the industry.  Second,  due to what we believe are inferior and inadequate absorption profiles, we will not provide CBD in pill or gummy form.  To do so, at the present time, would require very high mg content edibles, with prohibitive costs.

WHY ISOLATE AND NOT FULL OR BROAD SPECTRUM CBD?

Our choice of isolate (pure) CBD, CBN with other minor cannabinoids is based on our desire to provide products that have 0% THC, and to exclude other plant compounds (terpenes and flavonoids and others) that have undergone very little research.  While other companies have chosen to use Full or Broad Spectrum CBD, often citing improved clinical effect due the presence of the whole plant, there is no scientific evidence that their cited “Entourage Effect” exists.*  See KEYWORDS.

WHAT IS BIOAVAILABILITY?

Bioavailability is the percentage of an administered substance that enters the bloodstream to exert its clinical effect.  As an example, if 100 mg of a substance is taken, and its bioavailability is 50%, 50 mg enters the circulation, and 50 mg is lost to metabolic inactivation, for instance by the liver.

WHAT DOSE SHOULD I TAKE?

There are very few, if any guidelines for the dosing of cannabinoids.  It is generally considered however, that they are safe, well tolerated, lack toxicity, and are non-addicting.

Our recommended dose for our CBD tincture is 100 mg, and for the CBN Tincture, the dose should be 50 mg.  If you weigh less than 125 lbs. it is best to start at one half of those doses, and increase the dose as needed.**

WHEN SHOULD I TAKE THE CBD TINCTURE OR THE CBN TINCTURE?

Timing depends on the reason(s) for its use.  If it is to potentially enhance golf performance and/or lessen golf associated aches and pains, the tincture should be taken one hour before your tee time.  If your desire is to lessen general anxiety and/or aches and pains, it can be taken twice a day, morning and late afternoon.  CBN should only be taken before bedtime, when the day is done.

WILL ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS MAKE ME HIGH OR FAIL A DRUG TEST?

All of our products have no THC and will therefore not make you high nor cause a failed drug test.  CBN is not considered to be psychoactive.

ARE THERE ANY POTENTIAL INTERACTIONS WITH MEDICATIONS I TAKE?

Yes, there are especially if the bottle for your medication has a GRAPEFRUIT warning on the label.  For a detailed discussion, see WHAT WE KNOW … under the GET EDUCATED tab.

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT TAKING ARTHRITIS MEDICATIONS WHILE I TAKE CBD?

There is no evidence that CBD would affect the concurrent use of over the counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.  It is our experience that often the need for these non-steroidal agents is diminished or eliminated.  There is insufficient evidence for possible interaction of CBD with prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatories.
