As a function of the many compounds found in hemp, notably the cannabinoids, the cannabis plant has many medicinal properties. CBD (cannabidiol) is the best known and most researched of the over 100 compounds. As a result, CBD is our primary focus, based on its strong anti-inflammatory activity, and its calming effects. Accordingly, we have chosen to provide CBD as an isolate, as opposed to a full or broad spectrum (see UNDERSTANDING CBD) product. We therefore know there is no THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid) in our tinctures, and we have the ability to add other cannabinoids, based on their desired activity, in known amounts during our manufacturing process. Accordingly, we have added the minor cannabinoids, CBG & CBC to our tincture at a concentration of 10% relative to CBD, not due to some theoretical Entourage Effect, but instead due to their own clinical effects.
Our regard for POTENCY is represented by the mg content of our products. The minimum content for our tinctures will always be 3000 mg in a 30 cc bottle, providing 100 mg per 1cc dose. While specific industry dosing guidelines have not been established, we do know that inadequate dosing (for example 1cc from a 30cc, 500 mg bottle: 16.7 mg) will cause you to believe that CBD is not effective. Similarly, the minimum content for our cream jar will always be 5000 mg. In the future, we plan to introduce higher mg. content tinctures and creams.
Until we have more proof of consistent absorption and dosing recommendations for other CBD formulations, we have no plans to introduce chewing gum, gummies or capsules. Until that time, we remain steadfast and focused on tinctures, creams and aerosols that rely on efficient and reproducible transmucosal and transdermal absorption respectively.
